Theme Parks: Peak Dinosaur and Minion Attendance

  • Last week, Comcast revealed that its U.S. Universal Park attendance and guest spending are ahead of 2019 levels. Orlando delivered its highest level of EBITDA for any quarter and Hollywood experienced its best second quarter EBITDA on record. The company noted no sign of a consumer or economic slowdown in the park business. Moreover, this performance came despite international visitation domestically being about half of what it has historically been. As such, momentum is expected to build as international visitation recovers.
  • These results bolster the company’s resolve to expand its domestic park business. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said, "We are moving full steam ahead in building Epic Universe." Epic Universe (below) at 750 acres in Orlando, is scheduled to open during the summer of 2025.
