Summer 2024 National Park Recap: A Softer Season

Domestic visitation to our National Parks this summer was down slightly compared to 2019, with California’s parks seeing a substantial decrease in visits due to Kings Canyon (hit by fire) and Death Valley (way too hot this year).

The tables below shows that Cuyahoga Valley has really grown in popularity since 2019, especially this summer.

The median income of Cuyahoga Valley's visitor trade area moved up slightly due to a higher increase in those of affluence. For many, Cuyahoga is not a long journey.

By contrast, Yellowstone is a very long travel and the less affluent couldn’t afford to travel to Yellowstone this year, resulting in a +42% increase in the median income of a visitor this summer vs. 2019.
