Primark: Selling Space in the U.S. to Nearly Double this Year

  • Primark's comparable-store sales were down modestly for its most recent quarter (Oct. 14-Jan. 7) with our data indicating visits per location decreasing 4%. Companywide trailing-twelve-month (TTM) sales per square foot reached around $336.
  • The brand opened four new locations in the U.S.: (1) Roosevelt Field, Long Island; (2) Jamaica Avenue, Queens; (3) City Point, Brooklyn; and (4) Sawgrass Mills in Florida. Seven more locations are planned by September 2023, bringing the total to 22 locations in the U.S.
  • As shown in the figure below, the Roosevelt Field location performed strongly in visits, visitors, and dwell time relative to the center’s department store anchors.
