We see additional outlet mall momentum with the opening of Tulsa Premium Outlets in Tulsa, OK on August 15. It’s clear that there is high demand with the first Saturday resulting in tens of thousands of visitors. Tulsa schools began August 20th, so it was perfect timing for parents to get all those sneakers and backpacks for their little ones.
When we look at competitive visits for other shopping centers in the area, it’s clear that this new kid in town is one to watch out for. It shot up to be the clear leader in traffic on opening weekend, and the following weekend also had legs.
There was definitely quite a bit of overlap in the trade area for where visitors were coming from for Tulsa Premium Outlets, Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, and Woodland Hills Mall.
