Mother's Day: Candy Sees More Holiday Uptick than Bath Products or Jewelry

Some favorite gifts for mom include chocolates, candy, bath products, lotions, and jewelry, but which category is most dependent on holidays?

We took a look at some popular brands to see.  Using a baseline of January 1, 2023, it’s clear that purchases at See’s Candies are driven by major holidays - namely Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother’s Day.  The holiday effect is more muted at bath product stores like Bath & Body Works or Lush, or for jewelry stores like Kendra Scott and gorjana.  One thing is for sure though - they all saw an increase in foot traffic right before Mother’s Day, showing that Mom was on everyone’s mind that weekend, no matter the gift.
