It’s been a fun, fearless, female summer with Taylor Swift and Barbie in the headlines as their $1 billion+ juggernauts keep rolling along. But let’s not forget Beyoncé, whom we’ve loved since her Destiny’s Child days and her subsequent move to solo superstardom. Her Renaissance World Tour paid $100,000 to cover the costs for the Washington DC metro to run later after a two-hour performance delay.
With over 70,000 attendees at her concert on Aug 6, many were worried about how to get home after the metro normally closes at midnight, but no fear, Beyoncé to the rescue.
Normally, visitors to the Morgan Boulevard metro station after midnight don’t account for any of the visits.
However, for the time period of July 28- Aug 7, the post-midnight percentage of visits jumped to 10%.
