Ah, the simple pleasures of summer. Once a year, 7-Eleven celebrates free Slurpee day on what else but 7-11, and boy do consumers go for this special treat. Foot traffic more than doubles on this signature day.
7-Eleven has been doing well with overall visits thus far in 2023. Visitation was up in every month for the first half of the year, nationwide. With the exception of slight dips in California from February-May, YoY traffic increased in most major markets, and by June 2023 was up across all these markets. There are number of factors that likely explain this trend, but likely more evidence that consumers are increasingly shopping in channels that have perceived value (as we discussed last week).
